Semana Santa / Easter in Palma de Mallorca

This is how easter is celebrated in Palma de Mallorca. NO - it is not kkk! But I must say it looks a bit scary, I'm not sure yet if I will enter the streets of Palma during this fiesta...
By the look in spanish supermarkets it seems that apart from this event on the streets of Palma the spanish people also spend their easter fiesta eating a lot of candy, expecially chocolate!

Metro in Palma has no evacuation plans

For those of you who are waiting for the Metro to re-open, expect to wait a bit longer. Apparently as they are working to fix the problems from the severe flooding problem last autumn they find more problems by the way. The other day they discovered that the Metro had no valid evacuation plan, an inadequate fire detection system and the emergency exits weren’t sign posted in a good way.

So, last year they said that in April the Metro should reopen but now it seems we have to wait a bit longer.

Snowing in Mallorca, and it will stay cold

Today it has actually been snowing here in Palma de Mallorca. Not much but almost enough to make me feel as if I were back in Sweden. But mostly it’s raining and very windy and when I looked at a few different forecasts it doesn’t look like it’s going to be much warmer for the next couple of weeks. I guess that’s the price we have to pay for the terrific weather we’ve had here during February and I guess we need some rain now so the summer heat will be more bearable.

To check the weather yourself, check out this page where I’ve added several different online weather forecasts for Mallorca.
